Huracán
Logo & Visual Identity — Sports Brand
Role: Brand Designer
Overview:
Huracán is a Mexican baseball and softball glove brand created with the goal of becoming a top competitor in the national and international sports market. The project began as a logo design and evolved into a broader visual identity system supporting brand growth, recognition, and performance-driven positioning.
Challenge
Create a bold, distinctive brand identity that communicates strength, precision, and movement — while remaining flexible enough to scale across multiple product ranges, competitive levels, and international markets.
Approach
The brand name Huracán became the foundation of the visual strategy. I explored natural phenomena such as hurricanes and tornadoes to capture a sense of power, speed, and controlled chaos.
-
Developed a custom symbol that merges a swirling motion with a refined “H,” creating a mark that feels both dynamic and intentional.
-
Refined the logo to ensure strong legibility, memorability, and versatility across gloves, digital platforms, and merchandise.
-
Selected and modified typography that complements the symbol while reinforcing a competitive sports tone.
-
Built a color palette inspired by environmental contrasts associated with hurricanes (hot vs. cold air, movement, pressure), tailored for high-visibility sports applications.
-
Designed the identity system to scale across multiple player tiers, from youth and beginners to professional athletes.
